CITY OF OVERLAND PARK (Up to 87th St)

Your service package includes curbside removal of Trash, Recycle and Yard Waste.

Please be sure to place all items out by 7:00 a.m. on your pick-up day.

There are separate trucks for each service that will arrive at different times.

We make accommodations for elderly and disabled households.

We offer special rates for Homes Associations. Contact our office for more information.

Windy days make for a big mess.  Help us help you get rid of your disposables.  Bag it up!  This greatly diminishes fly-away items during collection whether it's done by manual labor or automation.  Thanks so much for your help!
TRASH

Trash is limited to what will fit inside the provided cart with the lid closed (Dec 26-31 up to 5 extra bags of holiday trash picked-up at no additional fee (bagged only)

Please only place bagged trash inside cart

Place cart with arrows facing street (if the cart does not have arrows, bar facing street, wheels in back) at the curb, leaving 3 ft. clearance around the cart

Overage stickers may be purchased at our office: 115 W Warren St, Gardner, KS or call our office

Please do not place items on top of the cart or tie down the lid.

RECYCLE
No limits to recycle! If you have more recycle than will fit in your cart, place in a bag & set it next to your recycle cart. Make sure bagged recycle items are separated from your normal trash. 
We also accept junk mail and phone books.
Flatten cardboard. Rinse all containers - lids and labels OK.
Unacceptable: food/grease stained items, trash, plastic bags, Styrofoam, scrap metal and glass.
Ripple Glass has a purple dumpster for glass food & beverage container at a location near you.

***If recycle is contaminated with food, dirt, oils or mixed with non-recyclable materials, all recycle will be left.***

YARD WASTE

 

  • This free service runs your first pick-up in March through your last pick-up in November.
  • 8 item weekly limit. Overage stickers can be purchased at our office (or call).
  • December through February: $2.00 per bag/bundle plus a trip fee, scheduled in advance. (This fee may change to accommodate our fee at the time of service)
  • Acceptable: Grass/Plant clippings, leaves and tree trimmings ONLY.
  • Unacceptable: Construction debris, rock, landscape decor, mulch, dirt, trash. (If it fits inside your trash cart (bagged) and does not exceed the weight limited listed on the cart, we can take it with trash)
  • Tree limbs: 3" max diameter, 4' lengths and tied with twine/rope (no wire).
  • Grass/plant clippings and leaves must be in paper bio-degradable bags.
  • We will not dump containers of yard waste.
  • Disposal of live Christmas Trees & Wreaths must be scheduled during business hours at least 1 day prior to your pick-up day. (does not count toward trash limits)

 


BULK ITEM / CLEAN-OUT
  • Furniture, appliance, construction debris, carpeting and clean-out piles.
  • Stickers cannot be used for these items.
  • Must be called in during business hours at least 1 day prior to your pick-up day.  If you are a Monday pick-up, call by 4 p.m. Friday.
  • If we are unable to quote a price by phone, we will schedule a free estimate.
  • Consider a dumpster for large clean-out jobs.

    HAZARDOUS WASTE
      Some non-household waste items that cannot be disposed of:
      • Vehicle batteries
      • Paint
      • Oil and other vehicle liquid waste
      • Hazardous medical waste
      • Anything else listed on the container as hazardous or toxic
